PPFL kicks off with victories for KESC and Muslim FC

KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) defeated Army 2-0 in the opening game of the eighth edition of the Pakistan Premier Football League on Tuesday.
Striker Mohammad Rasool scored in the 35th and 85th minute to seal the victory.
In the other two games,  Habib Bank held  Navy to a 2-2 draw at the Peoples Sports Complex. Naveed Ahmed opened the scoring for Navy  and HBL leveled through Mohammad Ibrahim. Mohammad Ramzan converted a penalty shortly after the second half commenced and Khyyal Mohammad equalized for HBL soon after.
In Quetta, newly-promoted Muslim FC got off to a brilliant start by defeating PMC Athletico 1-0 with Mohammad Hanif scoring the winner in the 56th minute.
Wednesday’s fixtures:
Baloch FC v KRL (Sadiq Shaheed Stadium, Quetta), Afghan FC v WAPDA (Sadiq Shaheed Stadium, Quetta), NBP v PAF (KPT Stadium, Karachi).
