Dual nationals not to partake in elections: EC

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday banned candidates with dual nationality from participating in the elections, DawnNews reported.
An Election Commission meeting, headed by the Chief Election Commissioner, Justice Khwaja Hamid, decided that legislation would be passed to ban dual nationals from participating in elections.
The election commissioner also took notice of the delay in the fake degrees’ case and directed to re-evaluate the case and to expedite the process.
He also discarded Maulvi Iqbal Haider’s references filed against Awami National Party senators Zahid Khan and Haji Adeel.
Moreover, the election commission issued election symbols to two parties for polls.
