The story of ‘maatam’ revolves around the lives of a group of young women, who live in less than favorable conditions. they are part of our society and play important roles in our lives, but their hardships go unnoticed. whether they are the daughters or the wife of a strict man, who uses the cloak of religion to deny them their basic rights… or married to a violent older man, who uses his dominating nature to ruin the life of an innocent woman. the story follows the suffering and misery of these women, their determination to overcome these conditions, and break free from their troubled lives.
